A healthy, active newlywed, Tom began experiencing sudden severe back pain. The pain was so debilitating that he knew something wasn’t right and insisted on a scan that ultimately revealed an oversized tumor was growing on his spine. For the next nine months, Tom underwent aggressive chemotherapy and radiation. Every single day, he fought for his life. On June 2, 2020, Tom finished treatment—and on June 7, the couple welcomed their firstborn baby boy, Ty.

A new chapter had begun for the family with a cancer victory in the rearview mirror. Over the next two and half years, the couple enjoyed their time together as partners and parents to their son, and against all odds, even welcomed another little one, Jack, along the way. That bliss quickly faded, however, this past January when Tom felt the all-too-familiar pain in his back. The cancer had returned in the same spot. Ewing Sarcoma is an incredibly rare bone cancer, but a local recurrence is almost unheard of.

As part of M.Gemi’s family, we wanted to find a meaningful way to use our platform to support Kristin and Tom’s fight. We are advocating for the couple, their family, and all affected by Ewing Sarcoma. During the month of July, 100% OF PROCEEDS from our Francesca Clutch in Yellow will be donated to support Ewing Sarcoma research in honor of Sarcoma Awareness Month.
