As a young girl growing up in Sicily, Maria Gangemi was captivated by the handmade shoes displayed in boutiques’ windows. It was the artisans behind the shoes, however, that kept her attention.

Determined to preserve the centuries-old, generational craft and livelihood of these makers, Maria along with our CEO (and fashion-industry titan) Cheryl Kaplan created M.Gemi: a modern, sustainable mission to create beautiful products that matter.

Each week we release new, limited-edition designs. By speeding up the supply chain and building small batches of inventory more rapidly than typical manufacturing models, we’ve created limited surplus inventory, allowing us to keep our product out of landfills and in your closet at an accessible price point.
