Italian Driving Shoes

First called a “driver” because it was designed for driving—and not much else—this iconic style has been synonymous with luxury since it was popularized by wealthy Italians in the ‘60s. They were the ultimate signifier of ease—proof that the wearer had a car and didn’t need to walk. Today we wear them to drive, walk, and pretty much everything else.

Traditional Italian driving moccasins are defined by two things: true moccasin construction and gommini soles.

True Moccasin Construction

One piece of suede is cut to form the sides and sole of the shoe, ensuring the softness and flexibility the style is known for. They’ll mold to your foot with each wear.

Gommini Soles

The distinctive pegs that make up the sole of a driving moccasin are made from natural rubber and give the shoes soft cushion and grip.

Our first-ever style and number-one bestseller, The Felize famiglia is handcrafted by Norina and her team at a small workshop in the Tuscan hills.

She and her team of 10 artisans make only 60 pairs total of our best-selling driver each day.

The traditional process involves 118 hand-done stitches and singeing away loose thread with a flame.
